Ruth Aleta (Wade) Cook, 79, died at 8:44 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Bethalto.She was born in Jersey County on March 6, 1933, one of fifteen children born to the late Heber & Mabel (Ayres) Wade.Raised on a farm in Jersey County, Ruth graduated from Jersey Township High School, and Shurtleff College in Alton, where she earned her teaching certificate.  She began her teaching career near Joliet, where she met her future husband, Glenn Arthur Cook.  They married on July 30, 1966 at a Lutheran church in Joliet and they soon relocated to Jerseyville, where Ruth began teaching with the Jersey Community Unit School District beginning at Fieldon Elementary and retiring from Delhi Elementary.Surviving are a daughter, Andrea (Cook) Evancho of Bethalto; a grandson, Jace James Evancho; three sisters, Laura Jamieson, Mary Stillar, and Ida May Pickel all of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn Cook on Oct. 8, 2000; five brothers, Robert, Everett, Lee, James & Charles Wade; and six sisters, Esther Yocom, Florence Butler, Viriginia Wendt, Helen Sunn, Joyce Plume and Irene Sample.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville, with Rev. Darwin Schrader officiating.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville
