William Thomas "Tommy" Murphy Jr., 53, passed away at 4pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Barnes - Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on September 25, 1958, in Wood River, Illinois the son of the late William T. and Mary (Cunningham) Murphy Sr.. Survivors include one daughter and her boyfriend: Jessica Murphy and Andy Goewey of Wood River, two sons: Dustin Murphy of Osage Beach, Missouri, Austin Murphy of Tonupah, Arizona, one grandson: A.J. Goewey of Wood River, two sisters and brothers in law: Debbie and Pat Robinson of Nutwood, Illinois, Cindy and Richard Dannenbrink of Holiday Shores, two brothers and sisters in law: John and Cyndi Murphy of East Alton, Steve and Janice Murphy of Holiday Shores, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
He enjoyed fishing. He was the drummer for the band Murphy's Law.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 3pm until time of reflection services at 7pm on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.
