Hellen Anderson

Hellen M. Anderson, 76, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Clair’s Hospital in Alton. Born October 27, 1935, in a log cabin built by her grandfather in Bunker, MO, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Lorraine (Bailey) Thompson. She retired from the housekeeping department at St. Anthony’s Hospital and was a member of the Community Christian Church in Alton. On January 9, 1954 in Alton, she married James R. Anderson. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1986. Surviving is a daughter, Pamela Rue and her husband Robert of Jerseyville, three sons; John Anderson and his wife Terry of Alton, Terry Anderson and his wife Kim of Godfrey, and Rick Anderson and his wife Casey of Fieldon, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Robert Thompson of Carrollton, and four sisters, Joyce Demblon of Indio, CA, Dorothy Thompson of Alton, Ruth Grider of Alton, and Norma McCain of Alton. She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant sister, Linda Sue Thompson. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2012. Reverend Dave Burger will officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
