Alvina Nadine Anderson went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2013
She was born on April 14, 1928 in Alton, IL the daughter of Late Albert & Susan (Susie) Schott.
She was married to Carl M. Anderson. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1984.
They owned and operated Anderson’s Christmas Tree Farm and Market from 1956 to 1984, after which she carried on the family business and retired after the 2008 Christmas season.
She had a love for gardening always tending to her plants and flowers. In the late winter months she was always awaiting the first flowers of spring. She also had love of her art work and sketching, but her pride and joy was her three grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Andrew Anderson of Beardstown, IL, Eric and Caroline Anderson of Arrenzville, IL, and Joel and Rhonda Anderson of Alton, IL; Three Grandchildren, Emily Kohenour, Isiac Anderson and Jacob Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Dixie Schott; one brother, Vernon Holloway; and a half brother, Walter Walls.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 am at the funeral home on Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to The Disabled Veterans of America.
