Mary Hawkins

Mary A. Hawkins, 89, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at her home. Born January 5, 1925 in Alton she was the daughter of LaVerne and Anna (Sackers) Sharp. Mrs. Hawkins was a graduate of Marquette High School. She worked for International Shoe Co. and W.T. Grant and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. On November 17, 1945 she married Paul T. Hawkins in San Bernardino, CA. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1991. Surviving is a daughter, Linda A. Sigite of Godfrey, a son, Paul A. Hawkins and his wife Fran of Godfrey, seven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Marie Hawkins, a son, Glen Hawkins, a daughter-in-law, Linda and a brother, Clarence Sharp. All services will be private. Reverend Mike Pilato will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
