Anita Strieunoski

Granite City 05/23/2025

Anita Jo Strieunoski, age 66, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Gateway Regional Medical Center.

Born on November 29, 1958, in Eldorado, IL, Anita was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Betty (Whitlock) Rogers. On October 8, 2010, Anita married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Strieunoski, in Edwardsville, IL.

A woman of many passions, Anita found joy in bird watching, crafting culinary delights for her family, and creating a warm and loving home. Her true happiness, however, came from being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Nothing brought her more joy than caring for her loved ones and showering her grandchildren with affection.

Anita had a heart of gold and a generous spirit. She never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a warm embrace, Anita's presence brought comfort and light. She will be remembered not only for her compassion but also for her unwavering strength and boundless love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Rogers.
Anita leaves behind her devoted husband, Tony Strieunoski; her loving children, Kelly (Kip) Canterbury, Kerry Billingsley, Carly Lasiter, Clay Lasiter, Mary Kate (Duffy) Huebschmann, and Corinna (Bryan) Sanders; her cherished siblings, Dan Rogers, Ellen (Denny) Sipes, and Nolan (Kendra) Rogers; her dear step-mother, Sue Rogers; and her eleven adored grandchildren: Patrick, Nathan, Gwynevere, Lita, Eli, Zachary, Rhyannon, Betty, Reuben, Skylar, and Dillinger. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a circle of friends who were like family.

A visitation to honor Anita's life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, IL.

A celebration of her remarkable life will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, also at Irwin Chapel.
