Anton W. “Tony” Wasser, 89, of Swansea, IL, born February 13, 1936, in Anna, IL, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Anton was a United States Marine Corps veteran and later retired from Monsanto after 35 years. Tony was a member of the Swansea Moose Lodge 1221 and served as a past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent Order of Elks (BPOE) #481.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Gertrude L. “Gertie” Wasser, nee Starms, whom he married on June 27, 1964, and who died on June 23, 2025; and his parents, Anton J. and Ruth, nee Zbornak, Wasser.
He is survived by his two sons, Marshall (Dorothy) Wasser and Steven Wasser; his daughter, Karen (Gerald) Taylor; five grandchildren, Anthony Wasser, Lindsay (Lance) Wagner, and Logan, Jordan, and Rylan Taylor; a great-granddaughter, Layla Wagner; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, at a later date.
