
Athana Tomlanovich, 98, formerly of East Alton, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 in Godfrey.
Born Aug. 4, 1926 in Hartford, she was a daughter of Michael and Connie (Renfrow) Johnson.
Athana worked as a clerk for various places in her life, including Gimmy Drugs, Phoebe Goldberg’s Clothing and as secretary of J.F. Barton Contracting. After retirement, Athana worked as a volunteer at Operation Blessing. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Rob Morris Chapter and the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter LW.
She married Mike Tomlanovich Oct. 17, 1947 in Hartford. He passed away Apr. 15, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Mike (Carey Eveans) Tomlanovich of Englewood, FL; Carol (Mark) Hoffer of Crystal Lake, IL; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Broderick and Amelia Franklin; and two brothers, Jimmy and Chris Johnson.
The family will hold private services, and she will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
