Barbara Pfeiffer

O'Fallon 07/12/2026

Barbara K. Pfeiffer, nee French, born July 4, 1954, passed away on July 12, 2026, after a brief illness. Her Independence Day birthday could not have been more fitting for a woman who was proudly patriotic, fiercely loyal, and never shy about letting you know exactly what she thought. Barbara’s passing came just weeks after the death of her beloved husband, Bob, adding to the sorrow felt by all who loved them. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose family meant the world to her.

Barb attended Central Schools in O’Fallon and graduated from O’Fallon Township High School. As a young adult, she played softball and carried that same competitive, adventurous spirit throughout her life. She loved Elvis, knew her way around a kitchen, and could make homemade mashed potatoes and gravy that were worth showing up early for. Hardworking and dedicated, Barb held various jobs over the years, but she found one of her most valued contributions in providing transportation for special needs adults, helping them remain active, connected, and engaged in their community. She did that work with a big heart, a strong will, and just enough sass to keep everybody on their toes.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents Lloyd and Mabel, nee Rick, French; sister Brenda French; and grandson Dustin Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Brown; her son, Steven (Katie) Pfeiffer; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Austin (Kristen Potts) Brown and Blake Potts Brown; Zachery Brown; Caitlin (Keegan) Borum; Britney (Tyler Paugel-Wimmer) Woolever and their children, Paisley and Luca Paugel-Wimmer; Andrew (Alyssa Webb) Strolin-Pfeiffer and Dante Romo; Brandon (Alexa) Pfeiffer and their daughter, Winona Pfeiffer; and Alexia (Cole Kayser) Pfeiffer. Also surviving are her sisters Bonnie (Gary) Rohr, and Betty Lansing.

Barb was truly a force to be reckoned with—short in stature, big in spirit, and blessed with a personality that could fill any room. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, patriotism, quick wit, and the love she poured into her family and the people around her.
