Caroline M. Swalley, age 97, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on August 11, 1929, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Delmar Gardens, Chesterfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moody I. “Bud” Swalley; her sons, Byron I. “Bud” Swalley and Robert E. “Bob” Swalley; and her parents, Robert and Lydia, nee Droers Chase.
Caroline is survived by her children, Richard Lee “Skip” Swalley, David Wayne Swalley, Charles Edward (Patty) Swalley, Kathleen Sue “Kathe” Schade; Carol Lynn Johnson, Donna Marie (Jim) Murren, and Rebecca Jane “Becky” (Brian) Boillat; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. Interment will be in Caseyville City Cemetery, Caseyville, IL.
