Christie D. Cherry, 53, of Benld, IL, died at Community Memorial Hospital, Staunton, IL on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:54am.
She was born July 7, 1971, in Abilene, TX to James Michael Alexander & Sherril Demas Alexander. She married Jon W. Cherry on July 2, 1998 in Carlinville, IL.
He preceded her in death on November 10, 2018. Christie loved Stephen King books, supernatural TV shows and Boston Terriers. She enjoyed gardening and collecting swords.
She is survived by her father, Mike Alexander of Abilene, TX, daughter, Kendra Cherry of Benld, IL, step son, Josh (fiance, Shelby Maguire) Cherry of Gillespie, IL, grandchildren, Dean Cherry, Vanessa Cherry, Henley Cherry, Paisley Cherry, Jonah Cherry, brothers in law and sisters in law, Bill & Florence Cherry, Melanie & Mark Quarton, Margie Cherry, aunts, Sylvia Schneider, Cheryl Smith and niece, Kaitlyn Garland.
Christie was preceded in death by her mother, spouse, sister, Tiffany Alexander, brother in law, Don Cherry, mother in law & father in law, Mary Ann & Bruce Scopel.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services are Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld. Burial will be at Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL.
