Christopher Maxwell “Max” Lilley, 33, died at 7:29 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home in Godfrey. He was born April 30, 1990, in Alton, IL. He was the son of Chris and Cindy (Beck) Lilley of Godfrey. Max worked as an auto mechanic for Midas. He was an artist and gifted photographer and avid golfer. Max was a 2008 graduate of Alton High School where he excelled in golf. Along with his parents he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Joann Beck, his paternal grandmother, Marcia Callis and step grandfather, David Callis. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles; David and Debbie Beck, Julie and Tim Fortschneider, Greg and Sara Lilley, Todd and Judy Lilley, Jeff and Donna Lilley, and Mark and Ann Lilley. Cousins; Derek and Shelly Beck, Benjamin and Crystal Reeder, Steve (Neesha) Fortschneider, Lauren Lilley and Ted Cadieux, Liz and Kyle Buesteton, Meredith and Ryan Repasi, Katie Lilley, Matthew (Theresa) Lilley, Cullen (Sam) Lilley and Megan Lilley, Stephen (Anna) Westhead, Jayne (Ryan) Cheney, Rachael (Matthew) Herring, Caroline Westhead, Jack and Joseph Lilley. Also his Lilley relatives of Minnesta and Iowa and his Murphy relatives of Texas. He is also survived by his God son, Cash Zeiter, his good friend, Chris Zeiter, his art mentor, Jeff Vaughn, and many good and loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eugene Lilley and maternal grandfather, Donald Beck. A special thank you for Max’s medical team who helped and supported him throughout years. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to the National Epilepsy Foundation, the 5A’s Animal Shelter, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to Masses in his memory.
