David Kanallakan

David Lee Kanallakan, 70, passed away at 12:01 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

He was born in Jerseyville on November 26, 1954 to Delbert and Grace (Briggs) Kanallakan.

A man of quiet strength and unwavering kindness, he lived a simple yet full life, finding his greatest joy in the land he tended to and the family he cherished.

David spent most of his days doing what he loved – farming. The satisfaction of hard work, and the beauty of nature were his constant companions. Whether it was the  sunrise over his fields or the laughter of his loved ones, he found happiness in life’s simplest moments.

He is survived by his mother, Grace Kanallakan of Jerseyville; a son, Michael Kanallakan of Jerseyville; two sisters, Susan(Mick) Rolando and Jill (David) Brady, both of Jerseyville; three brothers, Tim(Pris) Kanallakan of Jerseyville, Jack Kanallakan (Brian Halim) of St. Louis, Missouri and Matthew(Terri) Kanallakan of Jerseyville; as well as a bonus brother, David “Duck” Bridges of Jerseyville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Kanallakan; a brother, William Frederick Kanallakan; and grandparents, Frederick and Stella Kanallakan and Wiliam and Pearl Briggs.

Per his wishes, private family services will be held.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fieldon.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jersey County 4-H Program, in care of Crawford Funeral Home, 1308 State Highway 109, Jerseyville, IL 62052, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
