Delores Fronczak, age 83, of Collinsville, IL, born on September 1, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in Belleville, IL.
Delores grew up in East St. Louis, IL, and was a 1959 graduate of St. Teresa’s Academy. She worked for Bradford Electric and later as an executive secretary for the Painters District Council 58 in Collinsville, IL. She retired at age 57 to care for her mother and Bill. Delores was very proud of her Polish heritage and was a member of the Polish American Ladies Society. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals, playing games, going out to dinner, and traveling to Vegas with family and friends.
She was always praying for people and saying the Rosary for them. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, Baptism, Christmas, or any special occasion. She was a worrier because of her love and concern for those she loved. Delores was a Godmother to many and took that role very seriously! She was very strong in her Catholic Faith and in her devotion to Mary, saying the Rosary daily and praying with Mother Angelica, whether at home, in the hospital, or in rehab. Through her time of sickness, Delores faced her battles with courage and dignity.
The family would like to thank everyone who prayed for and with Delores, and those who attended to her needs. Special thanks to Family Hospice, including Becky, Kathleen, and staff for their gentle care of Delores in her final days, and the compassion they showed her family. We also offer a heartfelt thank you to Father Bill McGhee for his kindness and prayers.
Until we meet again … love you.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Stella, nee Mezyk, Fronczak; her cousins, James Mezyk and Stanley (Sharon) Panek; and her significant other, Bill Phillips. If you knew Delores, you knew that she was proud of having a priest in the family, Father Stan Konieczny, who unfortunately also preceded her in death.
Delores is survived by many cousins and extended family: Jane Wondolowski (husband Danny, deceased), and family; Sharon Brown and her husband, Homer, and family; Joseph Mezyk, Jr. (wife Audrey, deceased), and family; Pat L’Heureux and her husband, Phil, and family; Joe Seper and his wife Sylvia, and family; Debbie Popovchak-Erickson and family; Lynn Conrad, and her faithful companion, Harley D.
