
With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dolores (Babe) Cummings, who left us on June 12, 2025 at the age of 90, She will be remembered for her boundless love, kindness, and the indelible impact she left on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on February 3rd, 1935, in Alton, Illinois, she graduated from Marquette High School.
She married Delbert Cummings and together they had 3 children, 2 daughters Susan (Ed) Cope and Kimberly (Jack) Lechner, and a son Kyle (Rebecka) Cummings. Babe has a cherished grandson, Ryan Weaver. She is survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Delbert and his wife Joyce stayed involved in Babe’s life journey until the end.
She is reunited in peace with her parents Richard and Gertrude (Owen) Coles, sisters Bernadette (Bernie) Waters and Darlene (Doll) Caroll, brothers George Coles and Larry Coles
She was known for her beautiful yard, landscaping and impeccable skill in decorating. She received Pride Eye awards for her landscaping and beautiful flowers almost every year. Her absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, but her memory remains a beacon of light in our lives.
A celebration of life will be held on June 16, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am with service to follow at 11:30 am at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Homes - Godfrey, Illinois.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance, sharing stories and honoring the beautiful life Babe lived.
Rest in peace, Mom, you will forever be in our hearts, and your legacy will live on through the lives you touched.
Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey, IL.
