Donald L. Jackson, 90, died at 5:38 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Greenfield, Illinois on October 23, 1933, one of thirteen children born to Jake and Edna (Perry) Jackson.
Donald was a quiet man by nature, who enjoyed the simple things in life, and looked forward to his multiple daily trips to Fran & Marilyn's Restaurant in Jerseyville.
He married Mary Lois (Calvert) Briggs on June 8, 1968 in Jerseyville, and together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage prior to her death on April 8, 2022.
Surviving are his children, Missy and Josh Nipper of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Donald and Terry Jackson Jr. of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Steven Scott and Lesa Jackson of Westville, Oklahoma, Tammy and Jon Devening of Jerseyville, Brenda Holmes of Alton, William Randall Briggs of Maryville, Terry Richardson of Kane, and Wayne Richardson of Florida; 11 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Guy Jackson of Jerseyville; and five sisters, Joann Crafton of Godfrey, Rose Hadsall of Peoria, Carolyn Salto of Springfield, Sandra Leone Isringhausen of Jerseyville and Joyce Votaw of Louisville, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Warren "Bud" Crull; a son in-law, Timothy Holmes; a daughter in-law, Brenda Briggs; three sisters, Mary Adams, Opal Crafton, Wilma Edison; and three brothers, Perry Jackson, Glen Jackson and Clyde Jackson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until time of funeral services at 12 noon at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Burial will be in Kane Cemetery.
