Dorothy “Dot” Brown, 84 of Hartford, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Dorothy was born on October 30, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of the late Lloyd and Crystal (Myers) Ridley. Dorothy was a retired customer service supervisor for Smith Kline Laboratories in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Dorothy had a special love for cats and she enjoyed her days spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her sons; James Brown of Hartford, Illinois, Don Brown of Hartford, Illinois; brother, Lee (Diane) Ridley of St. Louis, Missouri; niece, Pam Ridley (Anita); nephew, Dan Ridley.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth A. Brown; daughter, Tracy Brown; nephew, Lloyd Ridley.
In celebration of Dorothy’s life, visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorial donations are suggested to Big Cat Rescue and are accepted at the funeral home or online at bigcatrescue.org.
