
Floyd E. Collins, 63, of Carlinville, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
He was born on June 21, 1961, in Wood River, IL, the son of Evans T. and Doris L. (Grant) Collins. He married the love of his life, Karen R. Farneti on July 26, 1985, in Edwardsville. She survives.
Floyd was an incredibly hard worker with a tremendous work ethic. He worked as a union painter for over 40 years. He enjoyed doing Blacksmithing in Carlinville, loved antique cars and furniture, gardening, riding his Harley, skydiving, and being outdoors. He loved his dog, Lady. Most of all, Floyd cherished his time with family and friends. Floyd had a large generous heart and his willingness to help others was unmatched.
Along with his wife, Karen, he is survived by a daughter, August Collins of Springfield, who he absolutely adored; as well as several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Toni Mae Collins; his father and mother-in-law, Tony & Gloria Farneti; a nephew, Lucas Wiemers; and a brother-in-law, Mike Farneti.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Lori Schafer will officiate. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery in Carlinville, IL.
