Franklin (Frank) Wagner passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 90. Born in 1936 to Lillie and Lawrence Wagner, Frank grew up in Wood River, Illinois graduating from East Alton Wood River High School in 1954. As a young man, Frank managed the Morrissey Shoe Store in downtown Alton while helping out weekends at his parents’ A&W Root Beer Stand in Grafton, Illinois. He later enjoyed a long career as Purchasing Manager for Sidener Supply Company in St. Louis, Missouri, where he retired in 1998 after many years of dedicated service.
Frank had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating on the many rivers and lakes throughout the region and he especially treasured the time he spent with his friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his two daughters, Lori Wagner of Los Angeles, California, and Ann (John) Perez of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Natalie Perez-Rojas (Sam), Diana Perez, and Sara Perez; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Bonnie (Brainerd) Wagner; his parents, Lillie (Sheridan) Wagner and Lawrence Wagner; and his sister, Marilou (Vandiver) Johnson of East Alton, Illinois. He is also survived by two nephews, Larry Vandiver and David Vandiver.
Frank was known for his sharp wit, his love of laughter, and his memorable cookouts. He will be remembered for the food and joy he shared, and the many good times he brought to family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday August 6, 2026 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, Illinois where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life. A brief graveside service will follow at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, Illinois.
