Gerald Richard Scheller, 92, of White City, IL, died on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 4:14 pm.
He was born January 16, 1933, in White City, IL to Alfred Scheller & Mary Yaeger Scheller. He married Jeanette Kirkwood Scheller.
He was a steelworker for Laclede Steel. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army after having served during the Korean Conflict. Gerald was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive and the United Steel Workers Union.
Gerald enjoyed fishing, camping, riding mules, playing cards especially Pinochle, raising dogs, coon hunting and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Dan (Helen) Scheller of Benld, IL, Nancy Sutton of Litchfield, IL, grandchildren, Kyle (significant other, Brittany) Sutton of Litchfield, IL, Kelsey (Blake) Crawford of Litchfield, IL, Hal Hicks of Wentzville, MO, Theresa (Jess) Hicks of Bethalto, IL, great-grandchildren, Tinlee, Izzy, Abby, Karter, Lakelyn, Lawryn, sibling, Marilyn (Bob) Menglekamp of Staunton, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, Gerald R. Scheller, brothers, Larry Scheller, Estel Scheller, and Norma Kehnest.
Public graveside services will be on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at Chapman Cemetery, Mt Olive, IL.
