Harry Bohle

Harry Bohle, age 91 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday evening, peacefully after a short battle with brain cancer for less than three months, February 26, 2025, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.

Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Donnell - Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Father Stone officiating. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 6, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Donnell - Wiegand Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers and plants, please make memorials to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Harry William Bohle was born May 26, 1933, on the family farm near Coffeen, Illinois. Harry was the son of William and Lillian Earnst Bohle and one of eight children. He attended the Coffeen country schools and graduated from Greenville High School. Harry served our country in the United States Army during the Korea War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon, and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.

Harry and Luella Iberg were united in marriage on October 7, 1953. They lived in Highland, Illinois and Harry worked as a welder. He then worked in St. Louis for Mercury and then Emerson Electric. Harry and Luella moved to Greenville and Harry opened Bohle Appliance Center and operated the business from 1968 – 2004, retiring at 70 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Luella, son Anthony “Tony” Bohle and wife Danita of Florida and daughter Terri Zykan and husband Matt of Moro, Illinois. Loving grandfather to Chris Bohle, Cam (Mark) Busby, Charity (Landen) Loepker, Leslie (Chace) Ellis, and Will Zykan. Great-grandfather to August, Harrison, Averi, Chloe, Luke, Caden, and Logan. Also surviving are his two brothers Walter (Shirley) Bohle and Roy (Carol) Bohle.

Preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Tom, Sam, Joe, Donna Campbell, and a sister Margaret Mary Bohle as a child.
