Jeffrey L. Nelson, 57, passed away at 12:16 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1963, he was a son of Robert Nelson, Sr. of Wood River and the late Charlotte (Badman) Nelson.
A roofer and floor tech, Jeff was probably the biggest fan of the band KISS. He also liked skulls and they made up much of his décor and wardrobe.
Jeff married Rhonda K. McCartney Nov. 9, 2015. She survives in Wood River. Also surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are his stepson, Brian McCartney, of Wood River; two sisters, Karen (Marvin Matlock) Nelson of Alton and Denise (Josh) Carter; a brother, Robert Nelson, Jr. of East Alton; a nephew, Robert Nelson, III; three nieces, Amber Smart, Alicia Wiscombe, and Ashley Spano; and several great nieces and great nephews.
