Kevin Gerard McHatton, 69, died at 9:06 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born April 1, 1956 in Alton, he was the son of Carol A. (Galligos) McHatton of East Alton, IL and the late Richard Vincent McHatton.
Mr. McHatton retired in 2017 as a supervisor for Olin after 42 years of service. On September 10, 1988 he married the former Linda June Ellis in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.
Also surviving is a step-son, Matthew Shaffer (Kristi), three grandchildren, Daniel Shaffer Emily Smith and Ricky Smith, two great grandchildren, Steven and Zane, three brothers, Mike McHatton, Steve McHatton (Deborah), and Shane McHatton (Kristi), one sister, Linda Clark (David), several nieces and nephews, cousins and best friends, Brenda and Danny Jackson and cousin, Savannah Scott.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Melanie McHatton.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Gent Funeral home in Alton. Reverend Sonny Renken will officiate.
