Linda Jean Everett, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025.
A longtime resident of Wood River, Illinois, Linda had recently made her home at Charter Senior Living of Godfrey, where she was lovingly cared for in her final months.
Born in 1945 to Jesse and Doris (Kelley) Lankford, Linda was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She served over 30 years as the assistant cafeteria manager with the East Alton School District #13 before retiring.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where she found strength in her faith. In her free time, Linda enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Linda is survived by her sister, Sharon (Ken) Sherer, two children, Brian (Julie) Everett and Jayme Smith; her cherished grandchildren, Hanna (Cole) Ford, Haven Smith, Destin Everett, and Spencer Everett; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Penelope, Scarlett, and Felix. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Ricky Lankford.
Cremation rites were accorded.
An intermittent and graveside service will be held in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens on Monday, May 12, at noon.
