Louise LaVonne Downen, age 88, passed away peacefully at Hickory Estates in Greenville on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
Louise was born July 15, 1938, in Greenville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Mervyn Hueter and Olive (Jett) Hueter. Louise attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School.
Louise and James Edward Downen were united in marriage on July 12, 1975. They enjoyed 36 years of marriage, James passed away on July 10, 2011. Louise and James were members of the Greenville First Christian Church. Her love for the Lord and helping others were a significate part of Louise’s life.
Louise is survived by children: Terri Doll, Lisa Thomas, and Timothy James Downen. She was the grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 6. Also surviving is her brother Loren Hueter.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband James, son David Brian Barrett, sisters Florene Drew and Lois Peterson, and brother George Hueter.
