Margaret Manley

Margaret L. “Maggie” Manley, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital.

Born Jan. 26, 1946 in St. Louis, she was a daughter of William H. and Lorraine Margaret (Kunzman) Dawson.

She married Raymond Edward Manley Aug. 27, 1966. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2017.

Maggie enjoyed baking and was well-known for her talent. She was a faithful member of Faith Family Church of Illinois in Wood River, and she enjoyed working in the church.  She also was an active member of the “Sassy Seniors”.

Survivors include her children, Debra Peck of Choctaw, OK, Donna (Ed) Huebner of Bethalto, Steve (Annie) Manley of St. Jacob, IL, Pattie Schaefer of St. Louis, Suzanne (Kevin) Schaefer of High Ridge, MO, and Pastor Raymond “Buddy” (Tracy) Manley of Rosewood Heights; several grandchildren and great grandchildren who were very important to her; a sister, Sandra Turnbough of Arnold, MO; a brother, Jim Dawson of West Plains, MO; two sisters-in-law, Judy Dawson and Linda Dawson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Jerry Peck and Gene Schaefer; three brothers and a sister-in-law, William Dawson, Jr., Charles Dawson, and Paul and Pam Dawson; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Turnbough.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Faith Family Church of Illinois, 78 E. Jennings Ave. in Wood River.
