Martha “Marty” M. Wellinghoff, age 69, passed away at 10:40 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 24, 1942, in Bartelso, IL, the daughter of the late August and Irene (Hilmes) Fehrmann.
She married Paul J. Wellinghoff on August 7, 1971, in Bartelso, IL, and he survives.
She is survived by her husband, four children, David (Sandy) Wellinghoff of Acton, MA, Andy (Eileen) Wellinghoff of University City, MO, Charles Wellinghoff of Alton, Jimmy Wellinghoff of Alton; three grandchildren, Andrew John “AJ” Wellinghoff, Ella Wellinghoff, Greta Wellinghoff; brothers and sisters Betsy (Joe) Hempen of Breese, IL, Auggie (Grace) Fehrmann of Damiansville, IL, Frances “Hap” (Frank) Peters of Carlyle, IL, Tony (Cheryl) Fehrmann of Breese, IL, Cleo (Jack) Wilken of Barelso, IL, Thom Fehrmann of Urbana, IL, Theda (Severin Wellinghoff) Fehrmann of Newburgh, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joan (Flip) Foppe of Breese, IL, Marie Davis of Breese, IL, Sister Catherine Wellinghoff of Johnston City, IL, Dottie Wellinghoff of Breese, IL, Grace (Paul) Goedde of Breese, IL, Margie (Paul) Schniers of Breese, IL, Wilene Fehrmann of Highland, IL, Pat Fehrmann of Breese, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul Fehrmann, Cletus A. (Buck) Fehrmann; two sisters, Rita Dressel, Irene “Sis” Huelsmann, brothers-in-law, Ken Dressel, Tom Holtgrave, Bernard (Pete) Wellinghoff, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Francis (Kohrmann) Wellinghoff.
Marty loved her children immensely, and spending time with her grandchildren AJ, Ella and Greta brought her great happiness.
Per her wishes cremation rites were accorded.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 6th, at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, IL. A memorial mass will immediately follow at 10:30 am.
