Pamela Denise Stewart, age 70, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born in Wood River on August 30, 1954, the daughter of Charles A. and Georgia (Brooks) Jeffreys, Jr. She married Bruce T. Stewart in Godfrey, IL, on May 1, 1987. He survives.
Pam’s big loving heart, generosity, strength, and unwavering kindness made the world brighter-and always a little more beautiful-for everyone she met. A devoted member of New Wine Family Church, she carried a strong and steady faith in God and the power of prayer which served as a constant source of strength and comfort.
She loved the everyday joys-curling up with her cats, cooking, sharing laughter with friends, shopping, decorating, and faithfully visiting the nail salon. But above all, nothing brought her more joy than being a grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce; her daughters, Shawna Stewart of Seattle, WA, and Holly Stewart of Cottage Hills, IL; her adored grandchildren, Carter, Tanner, and Tucker; her brother, Chris (Julia) Jeffreys; and her nieces and nephews: Jeremy Jeffreys, Ryan Jeffreys, Nicholas Schaper, and Amanda McDonald. She is also remembered by her stepdaughter, Nichole Schroeder of Fulton, IL, who held a special place in her heart.
Pam is now reunited in peace with her grandson Parker, her parents, and many beloved feline companions.
A visitation to celebrate Pam’s life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL. Funeral services will follow on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Daryl Dolbee. She will be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In honor of Pam’s faith in God and love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to New Wine Family Church, Catty Shack Cat Rescue, and/or the Metro East Humane Society.
