Paul Leon McAdams, 83, passed away at 4:18 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2026, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on October 9, 1943, in Jerseyville, the son of the late Robert A. and Myrtle M. (Schroeder) McAdams.
Paul was a familiar face to many throughout the Jerseyville community, having worked for many years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Kirby's Drug Store. During his time there, he became well known to generations of customers who came to recognize his friendly and familiar presence. Following the store's closure, he began working in maintenance at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, where he remained employed for many years.
Throughout his life, Paul shared an especially close bond with his mother. His devotion to her was evident in the loving care and attention he provided throughout her life, remaining faithfully by her side until her passing. It was a relationship that held a special place in his heart and reflected the importance he placed on family.
Paul also had a fondness for collecting ducks, accumulating an extensive collection of duck-themed keepsakes and treasures over the years. It was a distinctive interest that became a familiar part of his life and something those closest to him will fondly remember.
He is survived by a sister, Barbara Cox of Shipman; four special nieces, Angie (Wes) Roady, Jet (Bruce) Pinkerton and Jolene Adair, all of Jerseyville, and Kim (Cecil) Bell of Kemper; as well as many additional nieces and nephews who were part of his extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert J. "Boob" McAdams, Harold Thomas "Tom" Secymore and Ray Leon McAdams, who died in infancy; and two sisters, Roberta West and Loretta Ann McCoy.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2026. His great-nephew, Mark Roady, will officiate.
