
Paul Gayle Rundell, 90, died at 2:12 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home in Jerseyville.
He was born on May 17, 1934, in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Carl and Louise (Bachman) Rundell. Paul graduated from Alton High School with the Class of 1952.
On April 23, 1957, he married Marilyn Hagen at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, Illinois. Together, they raised their four children and shared in many wonderful memories together throughout their 67 years of marriage.
Paul worked as a skilled sheet metal worker with Walter Metal Fabrication, where he was admired for his dedication and craftsmanship. In his free time, he had a passion for antique tractors and steam engines and enjoyed sharing his love of these timeless machines with others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Rundell of Jerseyville; three children, Robert Rundell of Jerseyville, Paula (Jerry) Brooks of Godfrey, and Walter Rundell of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Robin) Blackorby of Jerseyville, William (Monica) Brooks of Cypress, Texas, and Melissa (Brian) Estes of Godfrey; and six great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlie Blackorby, Avery and Harper Brooks, and Adelyn and Rylan Estes. He also leaves behind two sisters, Carol (Dale) Neudecker and Alice Camp, all of Godfrey.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Deborah Blackorby.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
He will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery in Jerseyville.
