Paulette Marie (Caselton) Hartman, 75, of Golden Eagle, IL passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on July 15th, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She never gave up and always had a positive outlook on life, even if it meant one day the disease would overcome her and she would be called home. She remained her strong, independent self until the very end.
Born on August 5th, 1950, Paulette was the oldest of seven children to the late Roland and Colette (Pohlman) Caselton. She graduated from Brussels High School in 1968. After graduation, she went to work at both St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond Heights and later St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles in the Radiology Department. Throughout the years, she gained many lifelong friendships that have carried with her to this day.
On November 20th, 1982, she married John Louis Hartman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels, IL. Together they raised their three children: Ann Marie (Jeremy) Kirn, of Golden Eagle, IL; Brian John Hartman, of St. Peters, MO, and Carla Diane Hartman, of Golden Eagle, IL. Besides her children, the ones that brought her even more joy were her three grandchildren: Ethan Gene Kirn, Carl John Kirn and Aubrie Colette Kirn, all of Golden Eagle, IL. She also leaves behind numerous children that were the light of her life, referred to as, “her many babies”. There was no doubt, the children brought something out in her that no one else could. That’s how much they meant to her.
Paulette is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, and her siblings: Carole (Phil) Seiferman, of Golden Eagle, IL, Melinda (Kevin) Wieneke, of Meppen, IL, Joe (Becky) Caselton, of Golden Eagle, IL and Jim Caselton, of Taylorville, IL, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, her father and mother, Roland (Johnny) and Colette Caselton, two infant siblings, Darrell Joseph Caselton and Pamela Jean Caselton, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oliver Louis Hartman and Maurine Katherine (Nolle) Hartman, and a sister-in-law, Jessie (Murphy) Hartman.
