Rebecca Ruth French, 50, of Brighton, IL, died at St. Anthony's Hospital, Alton, IL on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 4:51 am.
She was born July 27, 1971, in Carrollton, IL to Harold Rich & Verna Kay Harbaugh Rich. She married Stephen French on December 20, 1992, in Palmyra, IL. She was a teacher's aide for Southwestern High School. Rebecca was head cook at Mac-Gomery Christian Service Camp (Camp Mac). She was a member of the First Christian Church of Gillespie, IL. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, baking, and reading. She is survived by her parents, spouse, Stephen French of Brighton, IL, children, Samantha French of Lincoln, IL, Jonathan (Kimberly) French of Jerseyville, IL, Bethany French of Brighton, IL, Anthony Luke French of Brighton, IL, siblings, Jim (Bonnie) Rich of Greenfield, IL, Steve (Cathy) Rich of Springfield, IL, Shari Rich of North Liberty, IA, David (Laura) Rich of Brighton, IL, Mary (Terry) Young of Vero Beach, FL and Sandy Rich of Florissant, MO.
Friends may call on Friday, October 29, 2021, at First Christian Church, Gillespie from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10:00 am at First Christian Church, Gillespie with Arthur Roemer officiating. Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery, Greenfield, IL.
