Robert (Bob) Bond, 86, of Godfrey, IL. passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2024.
Bob cherished the quiet rhythms of life in the country, whether tending to his horses and dogs or savoring the thrill of a NASCAR race. Above all, his greatest joy came from the love he shared with his wife, Connie, his daughter, Julie, and his grandchildren, Lauren and Jacob.
A man of few words but profound presence, Bob was a pillar of calm and steady reassurance to those who knew him. His family fondly remembers the thoughtful gestures that defined him-calling Julie to warn of an approaching storm and checking in with his grandchildren to remind them how deeply they were loved. His most cherished advice was, "Be good, and if you can't be good, be careful."
Bob embraced life's simple pleasures, from sharing a good bourbon with friends and family to enjoying the music of his brothers-in-law, the Bensman brothers. Whether laughing with loved ones or savoring a quiet moment with his wife, he found joy in connection and conversation. His playful spirit and knowing smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bob's legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the lessons he imparted about kindness, simplicity, and the beauty of life's everyday moments.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Bond; his daughter, Julie Bond; his grandchildren, Lauren Mudge and Jacob Mudge; and his siblings, Jack Bond (Jan), Bill Bond, and Jerilyn (Bond) Close.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Spencer Bond and Rex Bond.
