Ruth Elizabeth Aljets/Boyd/Kuethe, 99, passed away at 8:27 a.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
She was born in Dorsey, IL, on October 7, 1925, one of five children to Edward and Elizabeth (Johnson) Aljets.
Ruth married Clarence Boyd on June 3, 1945 in Dorsey. They were married 56 years before his death in 2001. She later married Kenneth Kuethe of Staunton, on February 21, 2004. He also preceded her in death on May 16, 2010.
Ruth worked 31 years at Owens Illinois Glass Company in quality specifications. She loved painting, traveling to near and far away places, and camping. If you took her anywhere, she would find someone she knew. (Even in South America). She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton for over 60 years.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph (Nyla) Boyd of Worden, and Donald (Sue) Boyd of South Roxana; a grandson, Jesse Boyd of Prairietown; three great-grandchildren, Aubry, Thomas, and Regan; and three stepsons, Keith, Bryan, and Mike.
In addition to her parents, and husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters, Marguerite Frechte, Esther Hoffstetter, and Mary Bixen; a brother, Frederick Aljets; and two stepsons, Larry and Terry Kuethe.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Willard Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
