Stanley Bosoluke, 89, of Alton, passed away at 11:35 am on Monday, June, 15, 2026, peacefully in his sleep.
He was born on October 10, 1936 in Alton. The son of Michael and Susie (Lalik) Bosoluke. Stan’s parents immigrated from Russia and Austria, meeting at Ellas Island and moving to Alton for work. Stan was a first-generation US Citizen. Stan graduated Alton High School, Class of 1955. He was a devoted member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Alton.
Stan married Sharon (Miller) Bosoluke on September 28, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Stan was a dedicated mechanic beginning at Kenny’s Service Station and continuing as Chief Mechanic at Owens Illinois Glass Company until it’s closing in 1983. After the closing of Owen’s Illinois, he and Sharon moved to Lincoln, IL and continued as a mechanic at Ball Glass Company, until his retirement in 1998.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Angie) Bosoluke; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie (Ted) Prehn; a daughter-in-law Marcy Bosoluke; five grandchildren, Andy (Betsy) Prehn, Jonathan (Lauren) Prehn, Spencer (Abby) Bosoluke, Nick (Erin Velloff) Bosoluke, Evan Bosoluke; six great grandchildren, Addalyn, Jackson, Hayes, Thea, and Hudson Prehn, and Owen Bosoluke. One Sister-In-Law, Adele Miller; nieces, Becky Johns, Cathy and Susie Bosoluke, and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife Sharon, he was preceded in death by a son Scott Bosoluke, brothers Walter, Frank, and Steven Bosoluke; sisters Katy Riner, Helen, Rosemary, Edna and Eva Bosoluke. Brothers-in-law, Donald and Robert Miller and sister-in-law Susie Miller, and a nephew Joey Bosoluke.
Stan was a devoted husband, father, and Po-Po. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 am, Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A Mass of Christian burial at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jeff Holtman, OFS, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
