Webb W. Lewis, age 81, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on Friday, March 26, 2021. Webb was born on March 17, 1940, in Upper Sandusky, OH, the son of the late Fred & Edna (Mathew) Lewis.
Webb married Margaret Jahns on October 10, 1970, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.
Besides his wife of 50 years, Webb is survived by five children, Christopher Wier & wife Kim, of Portland, OR, Patrick Lewis & wife Kristina, of Chesapeake, VA, Jeffrey Lewis & wife Melissa, of Edwardsville, IL, Katherine Lewis & partner Matt Putz, of Edwardsville, IL, and Andrew Lewis & wife Amanda, of St. Charles, MO; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Etta Hayes, of Arizona; and two brothers, Dan Lewis, of Knoxville, TN, and Tom Lewis, of Edwardsville, IL.
Webb was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Webb and his wife Margaret ran Busy Bee Copy Service in Edwardsville for 24 years. He was very active in the Boy Scouts where he reached the rank of Eagle Scout, along with his father and four sons. He was also a member of the Edwardsville Rotary Club. Webb really loved gardening, reading, enjoying the outdoors and nature in general. Webb was cremated according to his wishes. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family request memorials to Boy Scouts of America, Edwardsville Rotary Club, Edwardsville Public Library, or Childhood Leukemia Foundation in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
