William Kaman

William 'Bill' Francis Kaman, 81, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away at 6:02 p.m. Sat. Nov. 14, 2020 at his home under hospice care.

He was born Mar. 22, 1939 in Granite City, IL to the late Steve & Dorothy (Bischan) Kaman.

On Nov. 4, 1961 he married Marie Sluka in St. Louis, MO.  She preceded him in death Sept. 14, 2003.  On Oct. 18, 2019, he and Ellen K. Harms were married in Gatlinburg, TN.  She survives in Glen Carbon.

Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and was a general contractor all of his life, working on many projects in the Metro East, including roads, bridges, subdivisions and homes.  He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Mark Kaman of Edwardsville, IL and William Kaman of Schaumburg, IL; 2 step-daughters: Teayre Klosterman of Great Falls, MT and Emylee (Roman) Key-Crowley of Bullard, TX; a step-son: Scott (Kim) Klosterman of Belleville, IL; 8 grandchildren: Jessica, Julia, Mark, Marie, Samantha, Kyle, Lily and Nina; a great-grandson: Lucas; and 2 sisters: Ethel Royce of Granite City and Sue (Larry) Papa of Decatur, IL.

Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a step-brother and sister-in-law: George and Delores Kaman.

The family will hold a memorial service at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Boniface or the American Cancer Society.
