Drone Footage Shows National Memorial of Military Ascent Taking Shape in Grafton

Drone footage by 618 Drone Service captures a powerful look at the National Memorial of Military Ascent in Grafton, Illinois, as the first phase of the project comes to life along the city’s bluff.

The memorial features bronze statues arranged to appear as soldiers climbing the bluff, inspired by the Allied forces at Point du Hoc in Normandy on D-Day. The project honors the courage, sacrifice and service of military members, while also creating a lasting place of reflection in the Riverbend region.

The first phase includes the installation of 12 bronze statues, each carefully positioned along the bluff. The memorial is expected to become a major destination for visitors, veterans, families and anyone wanting to pay tribute to those who served.
