Marcus Lemonis Chooses Grafton

July 1, 2019 | 9,075 views

There was a town meeting at Grafton Elementary on Friday June 28 in Grafton, Illinois.  Mayor Rick Eberlin started the meeting before a crowd of approximately 60 people at 7:00pm by introducing members of his staff that were instrumental in easing the burden placed on the city by the flood waters.

Mayor went on to thank members of the community who took time to assist City employees in protecting Grafton from being overwhelmed by water.

Eventually the Mayor told of his getting a call in late May by a producer from CNBC and said that they were doing a documentary and ask if they could come to Grafton and talk to him and other residents who had experienced the flood of 1993.  Mayor Eberlin said that if they come he’d try to carve out some time for them.

Once in town, the Mayor took a crew of 6 or 7 members from CNBC out in a boat to tour the city.  At the end of the tour, Marcus Lemonis introduced himself and, in the words of the Mayor, had a very heart –felt conversation that included a lot of emotion.  At the end of their talk he said Lemonis said “Mayor I love this town, I want to help this town.”

Marcus Lemonis is famous as the multimillionaire businessman and star of CNBC's reality television show, The Profit, in which he tries to save struggling small businesses across the country.
