Jerseyville Rotary Club Chili Cookoff

RiverBender.com; Charlie Huebener has been heading up Jerseyville Rotary’s Chili Fest for over 8 years and he says that it seems to grow in popularity every year.  He estimates that between four and five thousand may go to Jerseyville’s KC hall and enjoy a meal of fresh chili.

Huebener thanks the community and their support; the Chili Fest is the Rotary’s only fund raiser of the year so it has to count!

As a point of reference, this year, the Rotary ‘Chef’s’ cooked up 180 pounds of hamburger; Huebener made a point to state how grateful he was to the late Mary Brietwiser of Peace United Church of Christ for sharing her chili recipe.
