Stride and Survive Fundraisers and the 20th Mississippi Earthtones Festival

Our Daily Show previews two community efforts supporting cancer patients and environmental stewardship across the Riverbend. Alice Bartels explains how Stride and Survive provides gas cards, care packages and blankets for people receiving cancer treatment at local centers in Alton, Maryville, Highland, Litchfield and Shiloh.

Bartels also discusses the Shop the Town Pink vendor fair and barbecue on October 4 in Edwardsville, along with upcoming donation drives, dining fundraisers and a trivia night. She shares how increased demand for gas cards has shaped the nonprofit’s fundraising and patient-support programs.

Later, organizers from Alton Main Street and the Sierra Club preview the 20th Mississippi Earthtones Festival, scheduled for September 19 in Alton. The free riverfront festival features environmental groups, local art, live music, family activities, a Zen Zone and educational programming presented through a collaboration with Jacoby Arts Center.
