Remembrance Ceremony for Fallen Firefighters

On October 24, 1992, a devastating event occurred that would forever change our memories. Two Alton firefighters lost their lives in the performance of their jobs. Captain Gary Porter and Firefighter Tim Lewis were ill-fated victims of a senseless arson fire. On the 20 year anniversary of this tragedy, a remembrance ceremony was held at the Alton Fire Department to honor all of our fallen firefighters, including Firefighter Michael Bensman, Firefighter Warren Baker, Captain Gary Porter, and Firefighter Tim Lewis.
