Nancy Fell

Nancy Fell, 84, died peacefully Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.

She was born on August 10, 1933 in Verdigre, Nebraska, one of four children born to the late James Patrick and Alice Margaret (Sabatka) Marron.

Nancy and her family moved around throughout much of her childhood and she graduated with the class of 1951 from St. John's High School in Omaha, Nebraska.

She married the love of her life, John Fell on July 29, 1961 in Omaha and together their marriage was blessed with four sons and 52 years of marriage before his death on June 7, 2014.

Nancy worked as a Secretary for Lueder Construction in Omaha for several years until the birth of her second son, at which time she left the workforce and dedicated her time to that of a loving wife and mother to her family.

She and John made their home in his hometown of Council Bluffs, IA before his career took them to Modale, IA where they resided for several years before relocating to Mt. Ayr, IA. After relocating to Jerseyville in 1987, Nancy re-entered the workforce and worked for several years at Jack's Hallmark in Jerseyville until John's retirement in 1997 at which time the two spent much of their time traveling visiting their children and grandchildren.

Nancy's life could be described as one of faithfulness.

She was devout in her faith, teaching Religion classes and donating a great deal of her time as part of the Alter Society at the various parishes throughout her life, most recently Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville where she attended Mass daily. 

Most of all, Nancy was faithful to her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her sons, and  doting grandmother to her grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Jim Fell of Jerseyville; Joe (Jona) Fell of Appleton, WI, Paul (Heather) Fell of Houston, TX; Steve Fell of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren, Britt, Sena, Quinn, Kylie, Maisie, Jack and John.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ames Fell; two sisters, Patricia "Pat" Tuttle and Mary Simon; as well as a brother, Thomas "Tom" Marron.

A rosary service will take place at 4:45 p.m., followed by a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Friday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville with Father Marty Smith officiating.

Burial will take place alongside her husband at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be given to St. Francis/Holy Ghost
