59-year-old Richard (Rick) Lane Abbott passed away on January 12, 2018 at 9:50 a.m.
He was born on August 20th, 1958, the son of the late William and Frances Abbott. He was the father of Jason Benjamin Abbott, the late Jody Lane Abbott, and Eric William (Jessica) Abbott; the grandfather of Sophie Poletti and Lily Danbury and brother of Robert (Sonia) Abbott.
Rick was a gifted musician and lover of music who enjoyed playing the trumpet with many bands and ensembles throughout the years. His other great passion, which he shared with his father and sons, was the collecting and restoration of antique automobiles and motorcycles. He was a member of numerous car clubs including The Classic Car Club of America, The Jaguar Club, and Antique Motorcycle Club. He was also a supporter and donor to many transportation museums; Museum of Transportation St. Louis, The Classic Car Club Museum, as well as others.
Rick was also the co-owner of Abbott Machine Company until retiring in 2013.
