Charlene Temple

Alton 03/10/2018

Well if you are reading this that means I have gone to live with my Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 10, 2018.  I was born Charlene K. Bockholdt, on July 27, 1940, in Alton, the daughter of the late Charles and Eileen (Starkey) Bockholdt.  Waiting in Heaven for me are my mother, daddy, and infant sister: Mary Jane.  I married my soul mate Richard C. “Dick” Temple on October 24, 1980, in Wood River, and was happier than I could ever tell anyone.  Dick preceded me in death on July 28, 2016.  Survivors include three sons: Byford St. Clair and his fiancé: Andrea Smith of Alton, Barry Temple and his wife: Judy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brian Temple and his wife: Melissa of Lakewood, Colorado, seven grandchildren, four great – grandchildren, two sisters and a brother in law: Donna Kokorudz of St. Louis, Vickie and Pat Hill of Godfrey, two nieces, one nephew, and many other extended family and friends.

Charlene was formerly employed as a telephone operator and retail sales.  She attended Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton where she and her husband headed up the love blanket ministry and handed out hundreds and hundreds of blankets all which were prayed over many times before they were distributed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, and infant sister, she was preceded in death by one son: Sammy St. Clair.

In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 10am until time of memorial services at 12pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.  Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
