Guns N Hoses Hockey

About this event

The Metro East First Responders Hockey Team is composed of active and retired first responders and veterans from the Riverbend area.

As I am almost certain you are aware, first responders and veterans put their safety and well-being on the line every day that they go to work. Together in our professions, we hold a strong bond and strive to take care of those in need.

In July, 2023, Detective James Siatos, of the Alton, Illinois Police Department, tragically lost his home and countless belongings to a structure fire. Along with his wife, Christina, and his two young sons, Nikolas and Augustus, they have endured many hardships related to this incident. Although thankfully no one was injured, the family is still enduring challenges, including being displaced from their home, replacing even basic necessities, and achieving the goal of rebuilding their residence.

The MEFR Hockey Team wants to assist James Siatos and his family with the costly expenses associated with recuperating the losses from this life-changing event. We will be playing a hockey game including local players currently or formerly associated with local Law Enforcement (guns) against local Firefighters/EMS (hoses). 

The Guns vs. Hoses event will be played on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at 4:15p, graciously hosted by The East Alton Ice Arena in East Alton, Illinois.

100% of the proceeds this year will be donated to the family of James Siatos. In order to accomplish this task, we’re asking for your help.
