Alton Spring Clean Up- Honoring the Legacy of Carolyn Dooley

Carolyn Dooley was not only a founding member of Middletown Neighbors but was also its passionate chairwoman, dedicating countless hours to beautifying the park and improving the neighborhood she loved. Her tireless efforts have left a lasting impact, and her presence in our community is deeply missed.

 

In addition to her work with Middletown Neighbors, Carolyn was a trailblazer and one of the original organizers of Alton's City Wide Clean Up. She worked tirelessly to bring people together, organize volunteers, and set up pickup stations. For many years, volunteers from Middletown Neighbors and beyond united to clean up Alby and Blair Streets in her honor.

 

This year, we invite you to join us in honoring Carolyn’s legacy during the Alton Spring Clean Up, which will be held on April 12. We’ll be gathering at Schwegel’s parking lot at 10:00 AM to start picking up litter in the neighborhood. Garbage bags will be provided, and we encourage you to bring your family and friends to help carry on Carolyn’s mission of keeping our community clean and beautiful.
