GODFREY- Dennis P. Muscarella, 66, died at 3:08 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1954 in Alton the son of the late Steve and Ardell (Blackburn) Muscarella.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood Carpenters and Millwright in St. Louis, and a 33rd degree Mason, a member of the Piasa Lodge of Alton and a member of VFW 1308 Auxiliary.
His greatest joy in life was taking care of and watching his granddaughters grow up. Now he is a guardian angel for his third little girl coming in April.
On October 21, 1977 in Godfrey, he married Betty A. Newell and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Matthew David Muscarella (Sarah) of Jerseyville and Christopher Paul Muscarella of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Alyson Muscarella of Jerseyville and Eden Muscarella of Edwardsville and a third grandchild, Madelyn Muscarella due in April, three brothers, David Muscarella (Patty) of Alton, Joey Muscarella (Susan) of Florissant, MO and Ron Muscarella (Tracy) of Terra Ceia Island, FL and one sister-in-law, Kathy Muscarella of Boynton Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Muscarella. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13,2021 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
Reverend Sonny Renken will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Alton Post VFW 1308 Ritual Team. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
