Mary Alice Wood, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Bowling Green, KY.
She was born on April 12, 1938 in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Frederick and Esther (Nolte) Price. She married Warren E. Wood, Jr. on September 21, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2007.
Mary was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She loved history and to research genealogy. Mary also enjoyed traveling, especially to Civil War Sites, playing cards, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorie (Jimmy) Donohue of Bowling Green; a grandson, Jake Donohue of Bowling Green; siblings, Frederick (Anna) Price of White Hall, Shirley Wright of Elverta, CA, and Virginia “Snooky” Price of Bethalto; and brother-in-law, James Adams of Bethalto.
Along with her husband, Warren; and parents; she is preceded in death by a sister, Norma Adams.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 10 am until time of a private family funeral service at 11 am, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. Pastor Kale Hanson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
