Phyllis Billings

Alton 11/12/2023

Phyllis Billings, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

She was born in Hamburg, Illinois on June 30, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Susan (Hannel) Gresham.

Phyllis owned her own office and residential cleaning business for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading and listening to music. Those who were privileged to know her, knew what a hard worker she was, how she always spoke her mind and that she was a devout Christian.

Although she was technologically challenged, she made amazing spaghetti and chicken and noodles.

God has her in his keeping, we have her in our hearts – deeply loved, sadly missed, but never forgotten.

She is survived by one son, Craig Billings and his wife, Cynthia, of Dow; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Spicer and her husband, Jeff, of Godfrey; a grandson, Hunter Billings and his wife, Lily, of Godfrey; four great grandchildren, Kayden, Kailey, Korbin and Karson; a brother, Larry Gresham of Hamburg; two sisters, Donna Stork of Springfield and Mary Cunningham and her husband, Art, of Carrollton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sheryl Osterman and Joyce Ann; as well as her former husband, Lonnie Billings.

Per her wishes, cremation rights have been accorded.

Family and friends are invited to attend a A Celebration of Life at the Grafton American Legion, beginning at 1 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is assisting the family with arrangements.
